Twenty-five years in tech. Engineering first, then cloud and data, and since 2017 mostly AI — fourteen of those years at Microsoft, leading the AI practice across Asia-Pacific. Now I run Cloud & AI for APAC at EPAM, and still prototype most weeks with Claude, GPT, and Gemini. Titles change; the habit doesn't.

I curate AI Field Notes because the signal-to-noise on AI coverage is dire and I read across the industry anyway. Each issue pulls the day's news together with my read on what actually matters — covering LLM releases, AI agents, evaluation, and the industry moves you can't ignore.

Why these notes

A daily filter on AI, written for people who build and lead with it.

Each morning: the day's genuinely new AI news, cut from around fifteen candidates down to the handful that actually shift something. Every story has the facts, a short read on what it means, and a plain-language "so what" block for anyone who doesn't want to decode vendor press releases.

Why bother reading now: the pace has broken normal ways of keeping up. Models ship weekly. Capabilities that were research demos last quarter are in production this one. Support reps, paralegals, junior engineers, bookkeepers — whole categories of work are getting rewritten month to month, and most mainstream coverage is either breathless or months behind. If you build or lead around this stuff, ten minutes a morning is cheaper than finding out at a board meeting that your industry has already changed shape.
